Job Overview

Lightspeed Construction Group is seeking a skilled Underground Laborer to join our team. As an Underground Laborer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the assigned crew, furnishing tools and materials, and performing traffic control duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the assigned crew in the execution of construction projects
  • Furnish tools, materials, and supplies as needed
  • Perform traffic control duties to ensure a safe working environment
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools
  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to layout areas for construction work
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications
  • Tend to pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Erect and dismantle traffic barricades and other temporary structures for safety
  • Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment, and tools
Requirements
  • Pass a background check and drug test
  • CDL
Knowledge and Skills
  • Building and Construction—Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in underground construction for CATV telecommunications systems
  • Mechanical—Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Safety—Knowledge of relevant safety procedures in a construction setting
