RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare bids and project manage industrial, government, state, and private projects with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Attend and present at periodic meetings with owners, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate and maintain positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing estimates and assist with large-scale projects.
  • Ability to self-manage responsibilities and follow the company's safety program.
  • Periodic travel within a 300-mile radius may be required.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications.
  • Develop subcontract interest in projects and manage the subcontractor RFP process.
  • Assist in preparing detailed critical path job schedules.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred degree in Civil or Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in heavy highway civil contracting.
  • Ability to understand civil grading operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and bidding software.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating strategies, engineering disciplines, and cost control methods.
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage occasional heavy workloads and quick turnaround times on estimates.
  • Excellent math skills.
