Oncology Reimbursement Specialist

Purpose
Bayer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Reimbursement Specialist to join our team. As an Associate Director - Field Reimbursement, you will be responsible for ensuring patient access to Bayer oncology products within assigned geographical areas via supporting healthcare providers and office staff in navigating therapy prior authorizations, medical necessity documentation, and therapy PA denial appeals.
This role requires a strong understanding of payer/pbm therapy approval requirements, including prior authorization, medical necessity, denial appeals, formulary coverage, and payment for oncology therapies across all sites of care. You will work collaboratively with healthcare providers, office staff, and other stakeholders to develop and implement reimbursement strategies that ensure patient access to life-saving treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement reimbursement strategies to ensure patient access to Bayer oncology products
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, office staff, and other stakeholders to navigate therapy prior authorizations, medical necessity documentation, and therapy PA denial appeals
- Stay up-to-date with local MAC policies and procedures
- Provide education and support to healthcare providers and office staff on reimbursement-related topics
- Work collaboratively with the Bayer Patient Support Services Team, Market Access Field Teams, Bayer AGMs, SCs, and MSLs to execute reimbursement and access programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or minimum of 5 years healthcare-related reimbursement experience
- 2+ years field reimbursement experience
- Strong understanding of payer/pbm therapy approval requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers, office staff, and other stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years oncology field reimbursement experience
- Experience working with key oncology stakeholders
What We Offer
Bayer offers a competitive salary range of $157,800.00 to $236,000.00, plus additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, and more.
