The Irving Independent School District is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the most appropriate environment designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience.
- Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including self-contained classrooms, team teaching, and departmentalized settings.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsement.
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies for students with special needs.
