Substance Abuse Counselor

Thrive Behavioral Health is seeking a skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our Adult Substance Program, you will provide specialized services to adults who are or at-risk of becoming chemically dependent and/or their families.
Responsibilities include conducting initial substance use assessments, providing individual, group, and family substance use treatment and counseling, and coordinating referrals to other substance use treatment programs or facilities.
You will also provide chemical dependency consultation, education, and training to team personnel, develop and implement person-centered recovery plans, and document services consistent with Thrive standards.
Additionally, you will coordinate discharge planning, follow-up, and aftercare, monitor signs and symptoms of psychiatric functioning, and assist in community networking and education.
As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and their families.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of relevant substance abuse experience with adults
- CDP or working toward credentialing, LCDP preferred
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance that meets Rhode Island minimum standards
