About the Role

Bombardier Defense is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Wichita, ADMN / MFG, Learjet. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing technical projects from conceptual design to aircraft certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the engineering and project focal for missionized aircraft in the bid and proposal phase
  • Represent engineering with respect to programs and interface with client technical/program office representatives and suppliers
  • Develop schedules, milestones, and estimate budgets for technical activities to meet customer requests
  • Lead and drive the involvement and inputs from multidisciplinary stakeholders to find solutions to technical roadblocks, risks, and challenges
  • Ensure that all technical activities are harmonized and that the delivery of all requirements is done as per the schedule
  • Coordinate engineering resources to execute on the plan and identify risks and facilitate the resolution of issues
  • Communicate with stakeholders (customer, management, team, resources, supplier) to ensure solid alignment and coordination
  • Be accountable for the submission of all deliverables
  • Manage schedule, facilitate, and coordinate key milestones activities in support of program/project (internal and external)
  • Engage and coordinate supplier activities during the bidding phase
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in engineering and/or technical project management in the aerospace industry
  • US ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) Requirements: must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • Excellent understanding and relevant experience in aircraft product development from conceptual design to aircraft certification
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Projects
  • Strong skills in ITAR regulations and previous experience in government and/or military flight operations exposure is an asset
