POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Mechanic is tasked with the upkeep, repair, and diagnostic assessment of machinery and systems utilized in natural gas production. This role is essential in ensuring that gas production machinery operates effectively and meets both production goals and safety regulations.

This position demands extensive knowledge of operational practices and tools, functioning with limited oversight in routine scenarios. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and guiding junior staff members. Challenges encountered are typically non-standard and necessitate analytical thinking to resolve. The Senior Mechanic exemplifies integrity, accountability, and transparency, upholding the standards, values, and culture of Kalnin Ventures, LLC.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance on gas production machinery, including pumps, compressors, and generators.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and execute repairs or component replacements as necessary.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on machinery.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, promptly identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Monitor machinery performance and propose enhancements or modifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and inventory within logs and digital systems.
  • Ensure a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Comprehensive understanding of natural gas industry standards, market dynamics, emerging challenges, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with compressors, electrical systems, control panels, and wiring.
  • Proficient in mechanical and electro-mechanical failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with state and federal oil and gas regulations.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and job-related software, leveraging digital tools for performance enhancement.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and prioritization skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED is required; relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.

CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position involves outdoor work with varying weather conditions.
  • Availability for holidays, weekends, and unscheduled callouts is necessary.
  • May require prolonged standing and frequent bending, lifting, and moving items exceeding 20 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous environments necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Frequent travel may be required, with the ability to operate a motor vehicle and engage in hand-eye coordination tasks.
