About the Role

Fay Servicing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vice President of Tax Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic guidance on tax-related matters to support business growth and minimize risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax expertise to optimize financial planning, structuring of business entities, and developing business strategy
  • Assist with structuring and review of tax provisions in complex contracts, preparing transaction documents, and deal agreements
  • Research, analyze, and interpret tax laws, regulatory changes, and related legal developments to provide guidance for tax planning transactions and execution of business strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Business Development, and Compliance, to ensure effective communication and execution of tax-related matters
  • Stay current on tax laws, monitor legal trends, track proposed tax legislation, and advise on new practices
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate Degree (JD) and a member of the State Bar in good standing
  • Active license to practice law in relevant jurisdictions or capable of meeting admission requirements
  • 10+ years of legal experience in tax, coupled with real estate, banking, consumer lending, or mortgage industry experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at the C-Suite level
  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to link business needs to tactical execution and results
