We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Casualty Underwriter to join our Construction Division at AXA XL Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting complex construction projects and providing expert risk management solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough risk assessments and underwrite construction projects, including reviewing submissions, policy wording, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports.
- Work closely with agents and brokers to target high-quality contractors and develop effective risk management strategies.
- Calculate and negotiate risk premiums using various guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive options.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients, including proactive advice, assistance, and follow-up on insurance and risk management matters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and brokers, ensuring timely implementation of new and renewed accounts.
- Collaborate with the claims and risk engineering team to provide value-added services to prospects and clients.
- Negotiate and work on facultative reinsurance transactions as needed.
- Contribute to cross-marketing goals and objectives with other underwriters in the team.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial underwriting experience, with a strong background in construction primary casualty underwriting.
- Excellent underwriting expertise, with a deep understanding of construction risk management and insurance solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in underwriting software and systems.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with advanced education and/or professional designations (e.g., CPCU, IIA, CRIS) preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, as required.
