Manufacturing Engineer II

As a Manufacturing Engineer II at Raytheon Technologies, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and support of manufacturing equipment hardware in the Rapid Hardware Solutions department. Your primary responsibilities will include interpreting manufacturing requirements, developing and maintaining Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), and documenting manufacturing practices. You will also support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporating Engineering changes into the MDPs. Additionally, you will work with operators and design engineering on technical issues relating to the production manufacturing process. Your goal will be to drive efficiency through continuous process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect), using Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles and data-driven decision making. You will also maintain work cell layouts and provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, in-house as well as the supply base. You will make tooling selections based on technical data package requirements and create process plans. You will also learn about Raytheon products in a low-volume, high-mix fabrication environment, how to use area equipment and job-specific tools, and Raytheon policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
Interpret manufacturing requirements and develop and maintain Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs)
Document manufacturing practices and support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporating Engineering changes into the MDPs
Work with operators and design engineering on technical issues relating to the production manufacturing process
Drive efficiency through continuous process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect), using Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles and data-driven decision making

Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant professional experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with cable fabrication, including point-to-point, branched harnesses, and radio frequency, is preferred
Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming is preferred
Continuous improvement mindset to enhance manufacturing methods through process modernization is preferred
Sound understanding of statistical analysis techniques is preferred
Experience using PRISM (SAP) MRP software and shop floor data management tools is preferred

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
