Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering department, you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing development and support equipment hardware in the Rapid Hardware Solutions department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret manufacturing requirements and develop and maintain Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs)
  • Support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporating Engineering changes into the MDPs
  • Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
  • Work with operators and design engineering on technical issues relating to the production manufacturing process
  • Drive efficiency through continuous process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect), using Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles and data driven decision making
  • Maintain work cell layouts
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, in-house as well as the supply base
  • Make tooling selections based on technical data package requirements and create process plans
What You Will Learn

You will gain experience working with Raytheon products in a low volume, high mix fabrication environment, using area equipment and job specific tools, and learning Raytheon policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant professional experience in a manufacturing environment. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cable fabrication including point to point, branched harnesses, and radio frequency, automated tooling, machinery, and programming, a continuous improvement mindset to enhance manufacturing methods through process modernization, sound understanding of statistical analysis techniques, and experience using PRISM (SAP) MRP software and shop floor data management tools.
