Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs, including assisting with daily living activities and providing emotional support.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of patient treatment plans, including participating in group sessions and providing education to patients and their families.
  • Monitor and report patient behavior, including any changes or concerns, to the treatment team.
  • Assist with the maintenance of a safe and secure environment, including adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; training in mental health or a related field preferred.
  • 1/2 year of experience in a mental health setting, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and exposure to potentially hazardous materials. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality is essential.
