Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and support in a treatment or educational milieu.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support in a safe and secure environment
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide education and training as needed
  • Chart observations and other required documentation on assigned patients
  • Participate in the development, coordination, and implementation of patient treatment programs
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure patient safety and well-being
  • Perform phlebotomy duties as assigned and transport patients to and from appointments and treatments
  • Attend and participate in group sessions, in-service education, and staff meetings
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Training in mental health or a related field
  • 1/2 year (6 months) directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
