Job Summary: We are seeking a Substitute Custodian to join our team at the West Virginia Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform custodial duties, including cleaning and sanitizing facilities, and ensuring the appearance of the facility is neat and orderly.
• Act as a watchman and/or grounds man, ensuring the facility is secure and safe.
• Make necessary repairs to the facility and its grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Operate heating, cooling, lighting and electrical controls as specified or required.
• Perform routine lubrication services and minor preventative maintenance services.
• Inspect building and report deficiencies.
• Keep track of supplies and make necessary orders for supplies.
• Maintain records as required by the county.

Requirements:
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Pass competency test pursuant to WV Code 18A-4-8e.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
