Key Responsibilities
Understanding the Small Business/Self Employed (SBSE) Division
The role encompasses various duties at the full operational level, including:
- Identifying and analyzing potential issues, determining root causes, and proposing solutions.
- Conducting research on diverse topics, compiling data, and presenting findings relevant to program functions.
- Monitoring and assessing workflows and interactions with other departments to identify redundancies or systemic challenges, offering recommendations to senior analysts or supervisors.
- Ensuring the integrity of controls to maintain compliance with established standards and protocols.
- Updating procedures and guidelines in response to higher-level directives or changes in policy.
Employment Conditions
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of citizenship.
- Undergo a review of past performance and conduct, including tax verification.
- Successful candidates will undergo personnel vetting, including a background investigation and continuous monitoring.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to assess suitability for federal employment.
- Participate in a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process requiring two forms of identification.
- Compliance with the Fair Chance to Compete for Jobs Act is mandatory.
Experience in federal roles is not mandatory. Relevant experience may be gained in public, private, or volunteer sectors.
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-5:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal Service, which includes clerical support in management or program analysis functions.
OR
EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree or four years of education beyond high school in any field from an accredited institution.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of experience and education may qualify you.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-6:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service, involving technical support in management or program analysis.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-7:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal Service, including technical work supporting management or program analysis functions.
Additional Information
This position may require a probationary period.
Selected candidates will have their salary directed to a financial institution of their choice.
Participation in the IRS Telework Program may be available based on eligibility and management approval.
