Job Summary

This position is responsible for administering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including arterial blood gases, neonatal procedures, trauma care and ventilator transports, to patients with respiratory disorders in adult and neonatal critical care units.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Deliver Quality Patient Care: Perform duties to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction, while promoting safety and cost efficiency.
  • Administer Medical Gases: Administer medical gases, humidifiers, and aerosols for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes according to advanced skills check-off.
  • Treatment Orders: Take and follow verbal treatment orders from physicians in administering drugs and medications to the cardiopulmonary system of patients.
  • Patient Assessment: Perform patient assessment, interpret arterial blood gases, pulmonary function testing, hemodynamics, and chest x-rays as indicated in skills check-off.
  • Care Plans: Develop respiratory care plans and make recommendations for patient management.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Licensure as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), as well as current Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care, with a minimum of 1+ years of experience, including 6 months of critical care experience.

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
