Job Summary:We are looking for a highly experienced Ob/Gyn Sonographer to work on a local contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ultrasound technology and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic scans for optimal patient care.
- Evaluate and verify image quality according to PHHS standards to ensure adherence to quality control protocols.
- Review and interpret intermediate/complex exams with attending physicians to determine if additional procedures are required.
- Determine equipment needs for complex examinations to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
- Identify and distinguish appropriate modality of cardiac ultrasound, including motion mode, Doppler, two-dimensional, and color flow, and operate ultrasound equipment to ensure effective sonographic records.
- Maintain and perform intermediate troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment and inform supervisor as needed to ensure maximum availability of operable equipment.
- Inspect, clean, and prepare exam rooms after each patient to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Complete, log, and distribute billing reports to appropriate individuals to ensure accuracy of patient charges.
- Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction, making recommendations to supervisor and implementing and monitoring results as appropriate.
- Participate in research studies regarding intermediate sonographic procedures with other medical staff to ensure improved information sharing.
- Provide clinical instructions for new physicians and fellows in the area regarding sonographic practices and procedures.
- Assist residents in obtaining diagnostic images as necessary and serve as a resource for new staff.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in Sonography by attending seminars and workshops, reading professional journals, and maintaining certification.
- Responsible for training and supervising assigned students as needed.
- At least 1+ years of experience in Sonography working OB/GYN cases.
- Travel experience preferred.
- ARDMS OBGYN discipline required; Fetal Echo certification strong preferred.
- MUST have MFM, high-risk OBGYN, and pre-natal experience.
- ALL certs must be active.
