Position Overview:

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSOM), in collaboration with IU Health Physicians, is seeking a skilled neuropathologist with exceptional diagnostic capabilities. This role will be situated at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL). The neuropathology division is part of a dynamic, subspecialized anatomic pathology group comprising over 50 pathologists, with plans for further expansion. This division caters to 10 hospitals within the IU Health network, Eskenazi Health, and Roudebush VA Medical Center, ensuring a diverse and rich case mix. Pediatric neuropathology services are affiliated with Riley Children's Health, the only comprehensive pediatric hospital in the state featuring an active neurosurgery program. Additionally, this division supports a comprehensive neuropathology fellowship training program, accommodating up to 2 fellows annually. The division also contributes to the academic and research missions of IUSOM, which includes the Stark Neuroscience Center, Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Center, and IU Health Neuroscience Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional diagnostic services in the field of neuropathology.
  • Offer on-call coverage and participate in departmental conferences with faculty members.
  • Engage in educational initiatives with medical students, residents, and fellows, including 1-2 neuropathology fellows.
  • Handle a broad spectrum of specimens, including robust adult and pediatric neuropathology, muscle and nerve biopsies, as well as ophthalmic and autopsy pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Fellowship trained in neuropathology, Board Certified with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of Indiana.
