About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procedure Scheduler Specialist to join our team at Indiana University Health. As a key member of our Front Office team, you will be responsible for scheduling Endoscopy procedures in both Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Hospital settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments and interviews patients for appropriate medical information
  • Explain charges and policies of the department/hospital and validate and enter charges into appropriate systems
  • Collect necessary payment and answer incoming calls, directing patients and visitors appropriately
  • Obtain specific information to generate an accurate financial and demographic record for patients to ensure maximum reimbursement and clinical outcomes
  • Facilitate patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • Prefer relevant experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding preferred
  • Requires ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
