Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team at Seven Hills Foundation. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with life management skills, promoting their overall well-being and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement supports as outlined in individual support plans, including personal care, physical lifting, and therapeutic holds.
  • Model healthy behavior and positive social skills, promoting a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Provide feedback to team members and supervisors on the effectiveness of individual plans.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, shopping, cooking, and budgeting.
  • Facilitate and maintain family contacts and community involvement, encouraging individuals to develop new relationships and connections.
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats, ensuring clear and respectful interactions with individuals, team members, and supervisors.
  • Participate in improving communication with individuals by learning and utilizing their preferred modes of communication.
  • Follow doctors' orders and ensure proper administration of medications and treatments, monitoring dietary needs and recognizing medical crises.
  • May assist in vocational evaluation and support vocational programming, including payroll, merit ratings, referrals, and job coaching.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, adhering to Human Rights regulations and agency policies.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by representing the agency through professional communication and interactions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.
  • Able to communicate verbally, through touch, visually, and in writing.
  • Basic budgeting and mathematical skills.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate tact, good judgment, and initiative in interactions with individuals, peers, family members, and the general public.
