We are seeking a highly qualified writer and scholar to join our faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of English at Michigan State University. This tenure-track position is supported by the Audrey and John Leslie Endowment, which advances research and creative production in North American Literary Studies.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in Creative Writing and Literary Studies at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Contribute to the Department's aims of democratizing access to liberal education and generating knowledge that enriches life and makes a social difference
  • Engage in research and creative production that nurtures the political and cultural work that literature can accomplish
  • Collaborate with the American Indian and Indigenous Studies program, the Indigenous Law and Policy Center, and the Native American Institute
Requirements
  • Doctorate in English, Creative Writing, or a related field
  • Significant teaching experience in higher education and/or in Indigenous communities
  • A robust body of creative and/or scholarly publication and/or performance
