Job Overview

The Process Optimization Engineer will be an integral part of our production team at Coating and Converting Technologies, LLC, focusing on refining our manufacturing methodologies to enhance both productivity and quality. This position encompasses overseeing active capital expenditure projects, facilitating communication between suppliers and the production floor, and executing engineering strategies that foster ongoing enhancements in our operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Assessment & Enhancement: Evaluate and refine existing manufacturing workflows to improve productivity and quality.
  • Capital Expenditure Oversight: Manage capital expenditure initiatives, liaising with suppliers and the production team, while establishing timelines for execution and completion.
  • Investment Justification: Formulate justifications for return on investment (ROI) for proposed initiatives during financial planning.
  • Project Identification: Recognize and suggest new initiatives that improve production floor operations.
  • Workflow Streamlining: Partner with department managers to optimize workflows through automation, enhanced inventory management, and improved task ergonomics, aiming to minimize waste and boost productivity.
  • New Product Testing: Spearhead trials for new products, including the preparation of pre-trial documentation and post-trial action plans.
  • 6S Methodology Implementation: Develop and execute a 6S methodology, reviewing it regularly with department managers.
  • Root Cause Investigation: Assist in identifying underlying issues and implementing corrective measures for production-related customer feedback.
  • Technical Documentation: Generate technical drawings to support process documentation or assist in the quoting of components to fabrication facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
  • Experience: 2-4 years in a manufacturing engineering capacity.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD is advantageous.
