Description

JOB GOAL: To ensure that each student develops critical thinking skills, communicates effectively, appreciates cultural heritage and diversity, respects human dignity, and becomes a responsible member of society.

Essential and Marginal Functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Organize and maintain all classroom materials and equipment in optimal condition.
  2. Create a learning environment that promotes organization and engagement.
  3. Incorporate safety principles into all instructional activities.
  4. Stay updated with current knowledge in educational technology.
  5. Utilize various tools and technology to enhance instructional delivery.
  6. Keep accurate student records and manage all necessary documentation.
  7. Engage in regular communication with parents and be available for educational discussions outside of regular hours when necessary.
  8. Employ diverse instructional techniques and strategies in lesson planning.
  9. Continuously improve instructional content by adhering to district guidelines and outcomes.
  10. Participate in staff and departmental meetings.
  11. Commit to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Oversee common areas such as hallways and cafeterias.
Assist in emergency situations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Valid PA teacher certification.
  2. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
  3. Strong motivational, communication, and organizational abilities.
  4. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  5. Willingness to engage in collaborative decision-making processes.
  6. Ability to effectively instruct and communicate with students and their families.
  7. Expertise in various pedagogical approaches, including cooperative learning and understanding diverse learning styles.
  8. Any other qualifications deemed acceptable by the Board.

SUPERVISES: Not applicable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As per Board's requirements.

EVALUATION: Performance will be assessed according to the Teacher Contract Evaluation.
