This position is open for consideration at the O&M Technician levels II and III, with classification determined by the candidate's previous experience.

Responsibilities:
Power Plant Electrician - Operations and Maintenance Technician

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION


The core responsibilities of this role involve operating, diagnosing issues, repairing, and maintaining all mechanical, instrumentation, control, and electrical high-voltage systems as necessary to support plant operations and enhance asset performance.

Hourly Rate Begins at $55.30, contingent on experience level.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system to oversee and manage work orders and spare parts inventory.

Conducts maintenance and repair tasks on plant machinery including pumps, gearboxes, fans, turbines, bearings, boilers, piping systems, valves, and limitorque operators.

(includes disassembly, part repair or replacement, and reassembly).


Monitors and maintains turbines, generators, pumps, scrubber systems, industrial wastewater treatment facilities, boilers, motors, combustion turbines, and related auxiliary equipment.

Provides training and development for fellow employees in executing preventive maintenance and routine service tasks. Emphasizes situational leadership, environmental responsibility, and safety stewardship.

Identifies equipment or system issues and proposes solutions.

Implements predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.

Performs electrical maintenance on generators, transformers, and motor-operated valves.

Conducts troubleshooting on plant equipment such as power and control circuits, heaters, motors, and transformers using electrical testing instruments.

Develops operational procedures for plant equipment to ensure safe and consistent functioning.


Executes all tasks during assigned shifts in a safe, continuous, and efficient manner while adhering to environmental and housekeeping standards in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Ensures safety by following the equipment Tag Out process.

Assists in procuring parts and supplies.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

POSITION SCOPE
The individual in this role must possess strong communication skills to interact effectively across all organizational levels. A solid understanding of PLCs, Ovation, and GE Mark 6 Digital Control Systems is essential.

Qualifications - External MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates' Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR

High School Diploma with a minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology.

Must successfully complete the training and job requirements for the position, including passing the EEI TECH test.

Electrical background is required.

Availability for day shift work and overtime as necessary.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Basic computer proficiency.

Understanding of power plant schematics.

Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.

Ability to work in a power plant environment, including climbing and walking long distances.

Capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
