Activity Leader Job Description

Overview:

Elderwood is committed to providing a vibrant and engaging community for our residents. As an Activity Leader, you will play a key role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fosters socialization, recreation, and mental stimulation.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Activities to plan and implement a diverse range of recreational programs and activities.
  • Engage with residents on assigned units to understand their interests and preferences, and develop personalized activity plans.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of resident participation and progress.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to enhance the activities program.
  • Ensure the department's inventory of equipment and supplies is well-maintained.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid New York Driver's License and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with staff, volunteers, families, and visitors.
  • Capacity to inspire and motivate others, and adapt activities to meet the needs of residents.
  • Understanding of the rights and needs of residents.
  • Physical stamina for constant activity.
