Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team at the Oklahoma City Housing Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance repairs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance repairs and make-ready work for building(s), grounds, and equipment
  • Complete work orders assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Housing Manager
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, pumps, electrical systems, and pneumatic control systems
  • Repair minor building/unit problems, including doors, locks, ranges, refrigerators, drains, and sewers
  • Exterior/grounds work, including mowing, edging, and trimming grass, trimming or removing trees, watering, fertilizing, and applying pesticides/insecticides to trees, grass, and shrubs
  • Secure unoccupied units, clean, paint, and repair (make-ready) unoccupied units
  • Assist with basic training and instruction of Maintenance Technician I and II
  • Complete work order written documentation and inventory control
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with vocational school training or three years of maintenance experience
  • Ability to use initiative, work independently, and take appropriate action on unassigned tasks
  • Basic computer skills and data entry
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, deal tactfully with the public, and retain proprietary information as confidential
  • A valid Oklahoma Driver License with an acceptable driving record
Working Conditions

Office environment as well as field environment. Possible exposure to inclement weather, dusty, dirty, noisy, mechanical hazards, noxious fumes, paints, and solvents, and unsanitary conditions. Stress due to volume, emergencies, and time schedules.
