Job Overview

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare materials and equipment for distribution. This includes ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and that outgoing shipments adhere to quality standards for both products and packaging.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare materials and equipment for dispatch in accordance with shipping orders, which may involve handling, storing, and cutting materials as needed.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to confirm compliance with shipping order specifications and ensure protection against potential damage.
  • Complete all required shipping documentation, including air waybills, bills of lading, shipper's letters of instructions, and certificates of conformance.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies effectively.
  • Process materials and equipment for future shipment staging.
  • Operate forklifts to transport shipments from the shipping and receiving area to storage or other designated workspaces.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED, with one to four years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with state, federal, FAA, and international shipping regulations and customs documentation is essential. Forklift operation skills are required. IATA Dangerous Goods Certification may be obtained during employment if necessary. Knowledge of AS9120 or AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards is preferred.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using personal computers and word processing software, along with typing skills, is necessary.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to read and understand work instructions, correspondence, and memos. Competence in writing instructions and effectively communicating information to delivery drivers, freight forwarding companies, employees, and management is required.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply basic arithmetic and algebra concepts to convert measurements as needed.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to understand and execute instructions provided in written or verbal form. Competence in solving practical problems and addressing various concrete variables is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regular use of hands for handling and manipulating materials.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 45 pounds.
Safety Compliance:

Employees must adhere to all safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a drug-free environment. Employees may encounter conditions that differ from a typical office setting, including exposure to odors, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
