About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Early Intervention Specialist to join our team. As an Early Intervention Specialist, you will work with children with developmental disabilities or delays, providing personalized focused treatment programs to increase positive outcomes and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children and their families with developmental disabilities, mental health or behavioral disorders, etc.
  • Conduct referrals, intakes, and screening-related activities
  • Carry out therapist-prescribed interventions
  • Assist with physical and motor skills development
  • Assess delays with cognitive, adaptive, social/emotional skills, and communication skills
  • Provide administration and scoring of development using appropriate assessment tools
  • Provide service coordination activities
  • Work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement goals and objectives
  • Participate in evaluation/assessment process as applicable
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Valid state teaching certificate or early childhood education as required by state regulations and/or contract
  • One year experience as an Early Intervention Specialist preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
