The Burton Center For Disabilities & Special Needs is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals with disabilities and special needs.

As a Residential Care LPN, you will be responsible for delegating health maintenance, prevention of illness and accidents, and administration of medication to individuals under the supervision of the Operations Manager or Deputy Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medication on schedule and document each dose.
  • Observe individuals for possible side effects of medication.
  • Ensure a continuous supply of medication and reorder through the pharmacist as necessary.
  • Teach individuals about their medications and general measures according to a defined teaching program.
  • Participate in self-administration teaching programs when ordered by a physician.
  • Monitor for and schedule laboratory work, x-rays, immunizations, dental and vision exams, and speech and hearing evaluations.
  • Review individual records for new and standing medical orders.
  • Complete 60-day medical orders and monthly weight charts.
  • Document vital signs and seizure records as needed.
  • Prepare medication administration records and consult with the Director of Nursing and Dietician on dietary needs.
  • Attend staffings and PDRs as needed and prepare for PDRs.
