Staff Chaplain/Team Lead

The Staff Chaplain/Team Lead provides comprehensive spiritual care services to patients, families, and staff at VCU Health. This role requires a deep understanding of the hospital's mission and values, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff
- Develop and implement spiritual care programs and services
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and departments to promote spiritual care and well-being
- Supervise and mentor chaplains and students
- Participate in hospital committees and meetings
- Master's degree in Chaplaincy, Theology, or related field
- Board certification by a recognized chaplaincy organization
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a chaplain
- Minimum 2-3 years of leadership experience in healthcare or chaplaincy
- Experience working in a diverse environment
- Knowledge of clinical ethics and decision-making
- Experience working in a university setting
- Experience in chaplaincy research
- Experience serving as a mentor for Clinical Pastoral Education students
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent and intense customer interactions. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to frequent change and prioritize multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements:This role requires prolonged standing, sitting, and walking. The successful candidate will be able to lift less than 20 pounds and perform other physical tasks as needed.
