Job Title: Lead Environment Artist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Environment Artist to join our team at Ghostpunch Games. As a key member of our art department, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of environment artists, collaborating with the art director and game designers to conceptualize and visualize game environments, and developing and maintaining art pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient production of high-quality environment assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of environment artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the highest quality of work.
  • Collaborate closely with the art director, game designers, and other team members to conceptualize and visualize game environments that align with the project's creative vision and gameplay requirements.
  • Develop and maintain art pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient production of high-quality environment assets.
  • Create stunning, immersive environmental art, including landscapes, architecture, and props, from conceptual sketches to final in-game assets.
  • Ensure consistency and coherence in the environmental art style throughout the game.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies to push the boundaries of environment art in video games.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in environment art for video games, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role. Willing to consider very senior artists who are wanting to move into a lead role.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in environment art, including a variety of styles and techniques.
  • Proficient with industry-standard tools and software, such as Maya, Blender, Photoshop, Substance Painter/Designer, and Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Excellent conceptual and visualization skills, with the ability to create both realistic and stylized art.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, with team members from diverse cultural backgrounds and time zones.
  • Passion for video games and a deep understanding of game development processes.
