Landscape Construction Superintendent Job Summary

The Landscape Construction Superintendent will oversee landscape project construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor landscape installations to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Maintain budget or justify variances above or below budget accruals.
  • Provide for the installation of landscaping materials in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Requisition, store, and secure materials and conduct inventory control procedures.
  • Seek new and innovative methods, procedures, and tools to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Assess the quality of work on job site, facilities and systems through regular documented status reports.
  • Supervise, educate, and guide the installation staff.
  • Maintain employee record-keeping requirements related to attendance, performance evaluations and payroll.
  • Continually analyze workflow, seeking areas for improvement.
  • Operate heavy machinery and hand tools as needed to perform tasks.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of direct working experience in landscape construction installation.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory position with the ability to conduct all employment practices related to managing and directing staff.
  • Computer skills using one or more spreadsheet and word-processing software application programs.
  • Must have demonstrated to be highly organized, self-motivated, and take pride in quality production in previous job(s).
  • Ability to operate various kinds of irrigation construction equipment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
