Job Overview

As a Crane Operator at Alter Trading Corp, you will be responsible for operating cranes within our facility. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading materials from trucks and rail cars, as well as sorting materials in the yard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently unloads various customer vehicles, including small to medium trucks and semi-trailers.
  • Sorts materials and directs them to the appropriate storage areas.
  • Loads trucks and rail cars with scrap materials, ensuring proper handling and safety.
  • Maintains a steady supply of materials for torch cutting operations.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of all loads to comply with yard safety standards, ensuring that rail cars and semi-trailers are secure for departure.
  • Inspects all inbound and outbound materials for quality and compliance.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the crane, including greasing and oil changes, and addresses minor repair tasks.
  • Operates semi-trucks within the yard to transport scrap materials as needed.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and wears the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the job.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
