About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician III to join our team at the Ludeman Developmental Center in Park Forest, Illinois. As a key member of our staff, you will provide physical support with personal care services to individuals on an assigned unit, on an assigned shift. Your duties will include conducting individual and group programs, verifying individual safety and protection through monitoring and supervision, and teaching and directing individuals in the maintenance of a clean, safe, and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical support with personal care services to individuals on an assigned unit, on an assigned shift.
  • Conduct individual and group programs to promote socialization, education, and skill-building.
  • Verify individual safety and protection through monitoring and supervision, ensuring a secure and supportive environment.
  • Teach and direct individuals in the maintenance of a clean, safe, and secure environment, promoting independence and self-care.
  • Attend and complete scheduled training as required by the Department of Human Services, the center, and the programmatic unit.
Requirements
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires successful completion of an approved training program and one (1) year experience in, or applicable to, the care, treatment, and development of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to the individual or others. You must also be able to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays, and participate in the heavy lifting and carrying of individuals. Additionally, you will be required to utilize office equipment, including personal computers, and travel in the performance of duties.
