Rush Oak Park Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will assist licensed pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, performing a variety of technical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications
  • Operate automated dispensing systems and manage inventory
  • Perform pharmaceutical calculations and interpret EPIC pharmacy labels
  • Identify and differentiate various types of medication orders
  • Prepare non-sterile compounding and packaging
  • Answer phones and assist callers with missing medication requests
  • Utilize Epic for technical requests and inventory management
  • Train and comply with USP , USP , and aseptic technique practices
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Current State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician license
  • PTCB certification
  • At least 6 months of previous experience as a pharmacy technician
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of college training or its equivalent
  • ACPE IV certification
  • Hazardous drug compounding certification
Work Environment

The Pharmacy Technician III will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with healthcare professionals and Rush system employees. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively and efficiently in areas requiring a higher degree of technical concentration, liability, and risk.
