Position Overview:
Command Holdings is in search of a Senior Special Operations Forces Trainer (Fires) IV.

The Senior SOF Trainer (Fires) IV plays a crucial role in supporting Theater Special Operations Commands, SOF Service Components, and joint Special Operations Forces (SOF) Headquarters in the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of functional and joint collective training, emphasizing operational and strategic warfare levels.

This role involves providing support to joint SOF headquarters through various training formats, including individual, staff, and unit collective training, academic events, senior leader seminars, planning exercises, tabletop exercises, and functional area workshops.

The culmination of this support is the execution of joint mission rehearsals, command post exercises, and other collective training events that are essential for the USSOCOM certification and validation program.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering subject matter expertise and strategic and operational-level joint training, particularly in the area of Fires.

  • Conduct thorough research, analysis, and training to bolster the readiness and exercise programs of Theater Special Operations Commands, SOF Service Components, and joint SOF Task Force Commanders.
  • Maintain current knowledge and awareness of SOF and Joint Enterprise training requirements through ongoing research.
  • Develop suitable training methods and materials based on Adult Learning and Training principles, focusing on training Battle Staffs on the 12 SOF core activities and 18 SOF joint HQs tasks at operational and strategic levels.
  • Foster functional and cooperative relationships with operational and strategic level planners and leaders within USSOCOM HQs, GCC's, TSOC's, the Joint Staff, and JSOC to ensure synchronized exercise design and execution.
  • Assist in exercise design, JELC planning, scenario scripting, key staff role playing, training, and observations.
  • Utilize the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) model in executing the Joint Training System / Joint Training Tool to identify exercise and training requirements, create appropriate training materials and scripts for both in-person and online delivery, and assess training effectiveness.
  • Review and critique event concepts, including purpose, objectives, broad scenario characteristics, processes, and products to align with the mission and objectives of the event's sponsor.

Work Environment:
The work environment may vary from moderate noise levels typical of a business office to occasional loud noise in settings such as airfields or large equipment areas.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer is necessary. The ability to drive a motor vehicle in various environments, including urban, highway, and rural roads, is also required.

Travel Requirements:
This position may involve regular travel, with potential trips to remote overseas locations for extended durations.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Minimum of 4 years of warfighting operational experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in functional Operational Fires and the Joint Targeting Process.
- Proficiency in After Action Report (AAR) products and procedures.
- Demonstrated capability as a Fires Observer/Trainer.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in SOF (O5-O6/CW4/E9) roles.
