Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Coordinator to join our team at Katy Hand & General Surgery. As a Patient Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, coordinating with hospitals for surgical procedures, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, hospitals, and our practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling: Arrange patient appointments and surgeries, coordinate with hospitals for surgical procedures.
  • Preauthorization: Obtain and manage preauthorization for surgeries and other procedures.
  • Communication: Act as the primary liaison between patients, hospitals, and the practice. Ensure clear and empathetic communication.
  • Insurance & Billing: Verify insurance details, manage patient payments and debts, and coordinate with billing and insurance companies.
  • Record Keeping: Enter payments and manage medical records using electronic medical record systems, preferably eClinicalWorks.
  • Administrative Tasks: Use Microsoft Word and Excel for various office tasks, maintain meticulous records, and manage time efficiently.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (preferably eClinicalWorks), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and diligence.
  • Ability to manage patient payments, coordinate insurance benefits, and work collaboratively with a billing company.
  • Ability to delegate office work but maintain good relationship with other staff members
