This is a unique opportunity to work on complex nuclear systems and contribute to the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
About the RoleThe Senior Field Engineer will be responsible for conducting technical support, consultation, and oversight at nuclear capable shipyards and Naval Bases. This will involve working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including ship's force, senior shipyard leadership, and Naval Reactors. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct technical support and consultation at nuclear capable shipyards and Naval Bases
- Work with stakeholders to identify and prevent problems that could impact cost and ship delivery schedules
- Provide technical direction for problem resolution and oversee compliance with contractual requirements
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new products and equipment upgrades as necessary
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field, or a Master's degree in a related field with 4 years of relevant experience
- 6 years of relevant experience in a related field, or a combination of education and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
