Pharmacist I Job Summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist I to join our team. As a Pharmacist I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and dispense medication orders according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients.
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy support personnel in a respectful manner.
  • Verify the daily activities of pharmacy technicians and point out errors in a non-punitive constructive manner.
  • Maintain a neat, professional, and well-groomed appearance and wear identification badge at all times.
  • Perform work within specified times and prioritize tasks for patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Work cooperatively with all network staff, including pharmacy management, providers, and leadership.
  • Address problems in the appropriate setting using tools and techniques for identification and resolution.
  • Identify and resolve immediate needs and direct ancillary staff on the resolution of immediate needs.
  • Escalate issues or concerns appropriately and resolve issues in the moment when patient safety is at risk.
Requirements:
  • 5-year degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
  • Must maintain all requirements, including continuing education, as mandated by the New York State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist.
  • Compounding and dispensing medications.
  • Monitoring medication therapies.
  • Providing medication advice and counseling.
  • Verifying prescriptions and orders.
  • Overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.
  • Conducting and overseeing inventories.
  • Safeguarding controlled substances.

Pay Range:

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.

Pay Range Minimum: USD $120,640.00/Yr.

Pay Range Maximum: USD $156,832.00/Yr.
