Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting data pertinent to patients' health, analyzing assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues, identifying expected outcomes for individualized plans, and implementing strategies to attain expected outcomes. You will also develop and implement education programs to promote healthy behaviors, evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes, and practice in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.

Essential Functions
  • Patient Assessment: Collects data pertinent to the patient's health or situation, analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • Expected Outcomes: Identifies expected outcomes for individualized patient care plans.
  • Care Planning: Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Educational Programs: Develops and implements education programs to promote healthy behaviors.
  • Progress Evaluation: Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of North Carolina, and have at least one year of experience working as an oncology nurse. We prefer candidates with a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) and certification in oncology nursing.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds, speak English in good, understandable terms, and respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Must be able to maintain physical stamina while walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
