Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients within the practice. This role involves engaging in patient and family education, coordinating surgical schedules for physicians, and managing appointments for diagnostic tests as directed by the medical staff. The LPN will also assist with office-based procedures and other specialized tasks as needed.

Additionally, the LPN may be required to support other United Hospital Center practices in similar capacities on an as-needed basis, particularly during instances of staff absence due to illness or vacation, under the supervision of the attending physician(s).

A professional demeanor is essential, as the LPN will collaborate with patients, physicians, and team members to foster a welcoming environment. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with procedures, gathering medical histories, reconciling medications, and documenting pertinent information as required by the clinic.

This position may also necessitate the LPN to function as a scribe for the physician, thus proficiency in typing and medical terminology is crucial, along with accurate spelling skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is required, and the LPN will aid in training initiatives as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted licensure with the appropriate state board of nursing as a practical nurse or multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
