About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Project Manager to join our team at the Walbec Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing solar construction projects from pre-construction to project closeout, ensuring timely and profitable delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project schedules, financial reporting, and budget management to meet or exceed planned profits.
  • Understand and apply project management processes and tools, including project scheduling, financial reporting, and budget management.
  • Manage all financial aspects of projects, including tracking and mitigating financial risks.
  • Listen to client and subcontractor concerns, identify issues, and react accordingly.
  • Provide conceptual information to groups to illustrate ideas and concepts.
  • Facilitate and lead productive meetings.
  • Prepare project baseline schedules and schedule updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track and manage project financial budgets versus actuals, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Monitor field productivity, estimate versus actual, and make course corrections to protect labor budgets and project profit.
  • Own project safety, conducting weekly audits and incident investigations, and contributing to a positive safety culture.
  • Identify project impacts and delays, notify stakeholders, and document claims.
  • Solve problems, understand root causes, develop solutions, and implement them.
  • Manage complex projects for success, considering multiple factors and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in the solar industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent training/experience.
  • Robust knowledge of electrical systems, specifically PV/DC systems.
  • Estimating takeoff capabilities.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, with expertise in Excel.
  • Effective communication, both written and oral.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to make time-sensitive decisions in complex situations.
  • Self-motivation, high organization, and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
