We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Project Manager to join our team at the Walbec Group. As a Solar Project Manager, you will be responsible for the independent and autonomous management of solar construction projects from pre-construction to project closeout.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project scheduling, financial reporting, and budget management using company processes and procedures.
- Understand and apply project management processes and tools, including project communications plans, contracts, BIM tools, and other project-related processes.
- Manage all financial aspects of projects, including tracking and mitigating project financial budget vs. actuals.
- Listen to client and subcontractor concerns, identify issues, and react accordingly.
- Provide conceptual information to groups to illustrate ideas and concepts.
- Facilitate and lead productive meetings.
- Prepare project baseline schedules and schedule updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track and manage field productivity, estimate vs. actual, and course correct to protect labor budget and project profit.
- Own project safety, including weekly audits and incident investigation and reporting.
- Identify project impacts and delays, notify stakeholders, and document claims.
- Apply problem-solving skills to understand root causes, develop solutions, and implement them.
- Comprehend complex project concepts and manage for success.
- 5+ years' experience in the Solar Industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or applicable equivalent training/experience.
- Robust knowledge of electrical systems, specifically PV/DC systems.
- Estimating takeoff capabilities.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, with Excel expertise.
- Effective and professional communication, oral and written.
- Effective problem-solving with the ability to make time-sensitive decisions in complex situations.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
