Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at The Rosewood at Fort Oglethorpe. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents and supervise and guide our clinical staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Document resident conditions and nursing needs
  • Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly
  • Assign nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff capabilities
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and CNAs
  • Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting as required
  • Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel
  • Ensure supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely
  • Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents
  • Coordinate nursing care for residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents
  • Participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff, as permitted by state practice act
  • Supervise nursing unit/hall, including scheduling and directing staff, as permitted by state practice act
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Promote interpersonal relationships and develop staff morale
  • Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit/hall and communicate needs for housekeeping, maintenance, and dietary assistance
  • Answer resident call lights and ensure all residents are checked frequently
Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN School of Nursing
  • Valid LPN/LVN license in this state
  • Valid CPR certification
  • One year experience in nursing preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Skilled in motivating and directing the workforce
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the facility
  • Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
