About the Role

Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan is a leading provider of mental health services, offering a unique and supportive environment for patients and staff alike. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Technician to join our team on a full-time basis, working nights.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the ongoing assessment of patient safety and emotional needs, working closely with the Lead Tech, Registered Nurse, and Shift Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate awareness of treatment plans for assigned patients and provide individualized care and intervention as needed.
  • Assist patients with personal grooming and hygiene, tailored to their age, developmental level, and needs.
  • Participate in assigned groups and activities to meet the diverse needs of patient populations.
  • Maintain therapeutic and professional rapport with patients, providing verbal de-escalation techniques and physical management as needed.
  • Make regular patient safety rounds, every 15 minutes or sooner, to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Assist the RN with patient admissions and discharges, performing vital signs, belongings searches, and unit orientation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Human Services-related field preferred but not required.
  • CPR certification (can be obtained once hired).
  • Experience working as a psychiatric technician preferred.
