Virtual Special Education Teacher in Maine

**Job Title:** Virtual Special Education Teacher
**Location:** Remote
**Position Type:** Full-Time (Work From Home)
We are seeking a dedicated Virtual Special Education Teacher to work remotely with a caseload of 5 students who have significant autism, cognitive impairments, are non-speaking, medically fragile, and exhibit self-injurious behaviors.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) remotely, focusing on life skills, communication, and academic growth for students with significant needs.
- Use virtual platforms to create an engaging, structured, and safe learning environment, with support from 4 paraprofessionals to facilitate online learning.
- Provide direct virtual instruction, adjusting teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with autism, cognitive impairments, and medical fragility.
- Regularly collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff to ensure each student receives consistent, high-quality instruction and care.
- Maintain open communication with families, therapists, and school administrators to support student progress and well-being.
**Requirements:**
- Active Special Education certification in Maine (required).
- Experience working with students with significant disabilities, including non-speaking, medically fragile, and behaviorally challenged students.
- Proficiency with online teaching platforms and tools to deliver remote instruction effectively.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to manage a virtual classroom environment.
