Job Summary

As a Clinical Nursing Assistant in our Float Pool, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge base and sharpen your skill set in a dynamic and challenging environment. Our Float Pool offers a unique chance to train on an array of Med Surg floors, Telemetry units, and high acuity settings within Maine's only Magnet designated hospital and level 1 Trauma Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various service duties and technical tasks under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, including taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living.
  • Consider the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations, requiring adaptability and critical thinking expertise.
  • Participate in continuing education relative to the role, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and registration on the State of Maine Registry.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, visitors, and Maine Medical Center employees.
