Job Summary

Byer Steel, a privately owned Rebar Mill, Rebar Fabrication and Scrap Metal Business, seeks a seasoned executive to drive strategic growth and operational excellence. As the President of Operations, you will lead the Sales and Operations functions, overseeing initiatives to increase rebar sales, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Collaborate with the management team and CEO to develop, implement, and evaluate the organization's strategy, focusing on constant improvement.
    • Enforce policies to enhance overall effectiveness and safety.
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Revisit existing incentive structures and sales programs to motivate the team to achieve sales goals.
    • Create and implement sales and marketing plans, establish formal sales processes.
    • Negotiate agreements with distribution partners and vendors.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of Recycling and Rebar businesses.
    • Manage operational performance against established company KPIs.
    • Identify and drive continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, profitability, and/or safety.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead regular weekly sales and strategy meetings.
    • Represent Byer Steel in a knowledgeable, professional manner in front of key customers and influencers.
    • Collaborate with the controller to report financial results in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Advanced degree in business or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations and upper-level management with responsibility and influence on strategic change.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, cost analysis, P&L study, budgeting, and accounting fundamentals.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to quantitatively analyze spreadsheets and present data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to develop and implement operational policies.
  • Experience in domestic and international purchasing, product development, and vendor relationship management.
  • Proven track record in leading operational teams.
