Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer 1 plays a crucial role in planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes for medical device products at Cook Medical. This position ensures a quality product is produced in a timely manner, while collaborating with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs to improve existing product designs and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations Managers and external vendors to develop efficient manufacturing methods and machines to meet product demand.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Engineers to design and implement processes for new products, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Partner with Operations, Accounting, and Global Product Managers to identify opportunities to increase profit margins and improve operational efficiency.
  • Train relevant personnel on new processes and document cost savings.
  • Develop and execute validation protocols to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the calibration department in writing and performing calibration procedures.
  • Work with Quality Assurance and Product Development to verify and validate critical processes and products.
  • Contribute to project planning and justification, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business objectives.
  • Act as a resource for operational departments, providing expertise on materials, equipment, and process upgrades.
  • Maintain training requirements and seek opportunities for continuous development and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Work Environment

This role requires working in a general office environment, with frequent sitting, standing, walking, and communication. The ability to perform the essential functions of the job is required, with reasonable accommodation available under the ADA.
