Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer 1 plays a critical role in planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes for medical device products at Cook Medical. This position ensures a quality product is produced in a timely manner by collaborating with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations Managers and vendors to develop methods and machines to enhance product capacity.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Engineers to establish processes for new products.
  • Partner with Operations, Accounting, and Global Product Managers to increase profit margins for underperforming products.
  • Train relevant personnel on new processes and document cost savings.
  • Develop and execute validation protocols, ensuring compliance with design controls.
  • Support the calibration department in writing and performing calibration procedures.
  • Verify and validate critical processes or products with Quality Assurance and Product Development.
  • Work with management to establish project timelines and justification.
  • Act as a resource for operational departments on materials, equipment, and process upgrades.
  • Maintain training requirements and seek opportunities for continuous development and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Work Environment

This role operates in a general office environment, requiring sitting for extended periods and utilizing close visual acuity for computer and equipment work. Frequent standing, walking, and communication are also necessary.
